For the most part, it does not matter which essays you read
first. These essays could have been arranged either randomly or
alphabetically with perhaps as good an effect. Many of the essays
do fall rather easily into one category or another, while others
might often be placed into more than one category. For example,
many of the essays in the category of “Listening” could arguably be
categorized under “Partnership” or “Intimacy and romance.”
Also, some categories clearly encompass only specific essays.
But others, like “Benefits of the negative,” “The lure of feeling
secure,” or “Empowerment through context” could also include
many essays that were categorized otherwise.
When dealing with subjects as broad as life and courage, any
categorization system is likely to be more a work of art than one of
science.
Enjoy!
